This challenging role will involve working on a variety of tasks with a highly capable team of Mining Engineers, Geologists and Geotechnical Engineers. The Mining Engineer's key role is to collect, analyse and present mine performance data. Work on improvements in safety and productivity of Cliffs  underground mining operations.
The role also provides engineering support to the mining operations team to achieve HSEC and production objectives.

The Mining Engineer will liaise closely with the mining operations to optimise the Cliffs Nickel Operation. The successful candidate will be involved in mine infrastructure projects, stope drill and blast design, mine ventilation, underground backfill and dewatering.

Nickel West Cliffs Nickel Mine is located 400 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. Cliffs Underground Mine delivers ore for crushing and processing to both Leinster and Mt Keith mills.  The Mt Keith Village a unique lifestyle with all the modern conveniences – swimming pool, health and fitness centre as part of our commitment to health and safety Nickel West Leinster.

About You

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of mining methods and practices
  • Strong focus on operational safety
  • No previous experience in underground mining is required
  • Report and presentation skills
  • A current Australian manual driver's license is required
