About the role

As Heavy Duty Fitter at Mt Keith, you will report to a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for maintenance of the Heavy Vehicle fleet in a safe and operable condition in accordance with Mt Keith maintenance strategy. Our fleet comprises of a range of equipment including Caterpillar 793d’s and cat auxiliary equipment, Liebherr 996 shovels, Liebherr 994 excavators, Terex RH340 excavators, Pit viper 271 drill rigs and various support machinery. 

About You

• A Mechanical Heavy vehicle and/or Diesel Plant Fitter Trade Certificate is essential• Must hold an Australian Driver's Licence. A Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver's licence with an F Class extension is highly preferred• Experience in a maintenance capacity in an earthmoving open pit field experience and large work shop environment is essential• Previous experience working within a continuous shift roster environment would be advisable• Understanding of permit to work and job hazard analysis systems will be preferred

Nickel West Mt Keith
Nickel West Mt Keith is located 460 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in the Northern Goldfields. Nickel West Mt Keith is a surface mining operation with an open pit and concentrator plant. The operation is surrounded by pastoral stations, with the nearest townships being Leinster and Wiluna.  There’s plenty to keep you entertained in the Mt Keith Village.  Take the heat off the day and head to the pool – or join in a game of footy.  BBQ dinners are regularly held and other social activities include movie nights.  Employees commute to and from Perth on a fly in / fly out roster or form regional areas on a drive in / drive out roster.
