About the Opportunity
Reporting into the Coal TROC Superintendent, you will provide first point of contact of contact for Production System Technology incidents covering Fleet Management Systems. Further to this you will act in a "Technical Triage" role within the team. You will responsibly for ensuring smooth transition for all stakeholders pertaining to power outages and shutdowns on site.
You will understand the logistical requirements and impact that our on-site maintenance work requires and be able to plan and advise accordingly. You will work closely with not only Operators, Technicians but also the Scheduling team to ensure all of these individuals are supported as best possible.

  • Proactive monitoring & event management to maintain critical production systems availability
  • Rapidly provide break-fix solutions or escalate to support teams to restore production system availability following outages
  • Perform maintenance activities on Production Systems Technology assets that reduce failure rates and downtime of equipment
  • Safe execution of planned work to deploy Production Systems technology changes & enhancements
  • Engaging site, IROC & TROC operation stakeholders during events, incidents, changes or planned maintenance activities
  • Applying effective risk controls to identify potential threats and minimise or remove a business impact
  • Execute Service Management operational processes to drive consistent execution for the entire scope of Production Systems Operations accountability
  • Participate in the planning and testing of disaster recovery and IT service continuity for Production Systems applications and infrastructure

About You

Whilst everyone is playing on the same team, priorities for your stakeholders will vastly differ. It's for this reason that it's essential that you have exceptional stakeholder management skills. A background in Operational Support will be extremely beneficial, particularly within a large organization due to the scale of projects being undertaken here at BHP.

  • You will need to have tertiary qualifications in a STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or a relevant trade coupled mine site experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Production Systems such as Fleet Management Systems and Radio
  • Good analytical problem solving skills and understanding root causes
  • Highly logical thinker and skilled in identifying issues/problems.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • A multi-tasking team player who can also work in a stand-alone capacity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships at all levels
  • Broad experience in IT and / or process control in a large and complex outsourced environment.
  • Familiarity of work management
  • ITIL processes.
