About the role

Working as an active team member of the Olympic Dam Emergency Services, providing support to the requirements of the Emergency Services and the broader Emergency Response Team, by adhering to operating requirements and striving for the achievement of individual, team and site objectives as directed.   This role can be based residentially at Roxby Downs or FIFO from Adelaide, working a 7/7 rotating day and night roster.  


In this role you will:

Provide Emergency Response to all incidents relating to BHP assets and personnel, community support in emergencies as well as maintain passive on site security operations. To provide operational leadership to Emergency Service Volunteers during emergencies. Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
  • Demonstrate a commitment to training by maintaining a state of operational readiness
  • Ensure that all emergency services assets are in operational order and maintained to operational guidelines
  • Attend emergencies or incidents on and offsite
  • Positively contribute to safety and department meetings
  • Participate in workplace investigations as required
  • Demonstrate a commitment to supporting individual, team and site objectives
  • Support continuous improvement by constantly looking for opportunities to improve work practices and procedures
  • Provide operational leadership to Emergency Service Volunteers during emergencies
  • Maintain high standards in all emergency service and security tasks
  • Build relationships with other departments and employees to ensure problems are addressed and resolved effectively

About You

Currently you are working in a similar role and have emergency operations (fire, rescue, medical and/or security) experience.  Also you have a proven commitment to looking after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way.
  • Unrestricted Heavy Rigid Truck Licence
  • Certificate IV Healthcare (Ambulance)
  • Certificate III Mine Emergency Response & Rescue
  • Cert III Public Safety (Fire & Emergency Operations)
