Our Operations

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 5/2 roster pattern roster arrangement.

About the role

The Onsite Planner is an integral contributor within the Surface Maintenance team who reports to the Principal Onsite Planning. Working in collaboration with the Maintenance Supervisors, Specialist’s and the offsite planning Maintenance Centre of Excellence (MCoE) team you will play a key role in planning and building a safe, executable maintenance schedule for the Surface operations.

In this role you will:

  • Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching
  • Identify, build and develop team capability through ongoing and regular coaching and development
  • Collaborate with maintenance execution and production operations and MCoE Planning teams on planning deliverables
  • Review and give feedback to future schedules +2 to +12 weeks as they are developed by MCoE
  • Manage late additions work in the Week +1 schedule and engage with the appropriate stakeholders to incorporate into the plan
  • Identify and implement master data improvement initiatives with support from Maintenance Analysis & Improvement (A&I)
  • Allocate resources to achieve optimal maintenance outcomes as part of work activity planning
  • Complete a review of the Parts Availability Tracker in the Week +1 prior to handover to execution to identify any final issues with plan execution due to parts availability

About You

  • Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’
  • Tertiary or trade qualifications in relevant maintenance fields, or engineering disciplines (preferred)
  • Experience with computer programs, 1SAP, MRS (Multi-Resources Scheduling) and Excel suite is highly advantageous
  • Skills and experience with applying local safety and statutory regulations, as well as an understanding of statutory compliance requirements
  • Quality focused with a drive to achieve results for the team
  • Ability to balance multiple incoming priorities and effectively deliver on customer expectations
  • Confidence to work across a range of disciplines and levels to foster mutually beneficial and cohesive relationships
