About the role

This role is a rotational, rig-based position supporting the Senior Drilling Supervisor in our Trinidad & Tobago operations.  Reporting to ultimately the Drilling Superintendent.  You will be involved in the operational planning of the well program supporting the engineering team and Drilling Superintendent, rotating to the Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago office starting as early as March, 2020.  The development campaign is expected to commence in August, 2020 and continue through at least April, 2021.  You will be assist in all aspects of HSE on the rig, well control, managing the rig contractor and third-party service providers, executing the drilling program safely and efficiently, and fostering a strong culture on the rig.  For more details on the role description, please review the “Organization, Development, and Training Standard” on the WSD Hub.

This position is a grade 10 
In this role you will:
  • Be expected to assist in all aspects of HSE and well control on the rig
  • Assist the Drilling and Completions Supervisors in all operations
  • Foster a strong culture of safety, trust, respect, inclusion, continuous improvement, and performance on the rig
  • Assist in the management and activities of the Drilling Contractor and Drilling Service Contractors to safely and efficiently execute the well program
  • Ensure all BHP policies, management principles and standards are complied with
  • Optimise all rig operations and lead the process of standardized work
  • Monitor, document and report all rig operations affecting the well
  • Provide engineering support during the preparation of the well program
  • Have access to experienced Drilling Supervisors and an experienced engineering support team
  • Develop and grow your operational experience

About You

  • 2+ years of drilling, completions, and workover industry experience
  • 2+ years of wellsite experience preferred
  • Experience with Standardized Work plans preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, petroleum, or chemical engineering
