About the role

As the Production Overburden Supervisor you will get to work in the largest pit in the Hunter Valley NSW and lead a team of Production Operators in executing the mine plan, achieving safe and optimal outcomes for the overburden team. Using some of the biggest equipment around including 800 Tonne class excavators and a fleet of Liebherr 282 trucks, you will also carry out statutory inspections relating to compliance & procedures, and you will be actively involved in field leadership activities.

Located in the lifestyle friendly Hunter Valley region working a 4 panel rotational day and night roster, this opportunity is well suited to someone who enjoys a challenge, loves to be around the largest equipment in a great operation and has proven experience in a people leadership capacity. Relocation assistance will be provided for this NSW residential permanent opportunity.

About You

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must allowing you to build relationships across the team with other Open Cut Examiners and departments. Our successful candidate will have Open Cut Examiner Certificate of competence (NSW or QLD), WA Quarry Manager certificate of competence or another transferable supervisory competency.

Reporting to the Superintendent Production Overburden, you will also have:
• A background in leading a large team on a front-line supervisory capacity
• Sound MS Office skills and
• The collaboration skills to work across various stakeholders to ensure overburden activities are performed in line with the mine plan.

Your ability to engage and build trust with your reports and be a champion for change will help you deliver on your commitments and will position you well for future career opportunities.
