We are currently looking for Nippers to join our growing Underground Mining Team at Leinster. This role will suit someone, who preferably has some previous exposure to mining operations and will be keen to develop their career in the underground mining environment.

Reporting to Underground Mining Supervisor, the duties will include:
  • Assisting and taking instructions from Jumbo and Bogger operators;
  • Ensuring all of the pre-start and maintenance is conducted prior to use;
  • Maintaining the working ground in good order;
  • Keeping Light Vehicles clean and in good condition;
  • Reporting any damages to machines and equipment; and
  • Adhering to our safety standard, policies and practices.

About You

  • Previous experience in underground mining environment will be highly regarded;
  • Proven excellent safety track record and commitment to continuous improvement;
  • Willingness to learn and to assist with multiple tasks as required;
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as a part of the team;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Current WA Driver’s License

Nickel West Leinster
Nickel West Leinster is located 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.  The operation sources nickel ore from the Perseverance Underground Mine and Cliffs Underground Mine before crushing and processing to produce a concentrate.  The Leinster Village and Township offer a unique lifestyle with all the modern conveniences – an Olympic size swimming pool, health and fitness centre, race-course and even an 18 hole golf course.  As part of our commitment to health and safety Nickel West Leinster is a smoke free operation and has a clean shaven policy.
