About the role

We are looking for suitable candidates with current experience in a mineral or chemical processing plant to apply for the role of Permit Coordinator
  • Reporting to the Leach Production Coordinator, the role focusses on coordinating the permit to work process for the Leach areas.
  • Set the standard for safely following the Permit to Work Process
  • Coordinating the day-to-day, week-to-week permitting for the production leach team
  • Coordinating and completing preparation for planned outages - includes permitting and resources (i.e. tags, locks, isolation tools) prepared prior to outage start
  • Assist with troubleshooting plant issues relating to isolation issues, and support troubleshooting of day-to-day plant operating issues
  • Participating in the leach area project related improvements or upgrades that require permit to work process or stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in the Intelli-Permitting system would be an advantage to the role.

Nickel West Kwinana
Located 30 kilometres south of the Perth, the Nickel West Kwinana produces nickel briquettes and nickel powder.  While many employees live in Perth, Fremantle and Mandurah, the Kwinana region is a thriving coastal township with three public beaches, excellent schools, modern shopping facilities and a wide variety of housing options.  As part of our commitment to health and safety Nickel West Kwinana is a smoke free operation.   We are investing in a Nickel Sulphate plant to be built at our Kwinana refinery south of Perth. We believe there are significant competitive advantages for Nickel West to move downstream into the battery chemical business.

    About You

    Candidates will be required to demonstrate:
    • High level of safety focus – on keeping themselves safe, leading the safety standard for the shift team, and contract partners.
    • Strong problem solving skills – the curiosity to challenge the status quo
    • Able to work unsupervised and handle a complexity of tasks in an effective manner
    • Strong communication skills
    • A positive attitude towards being a team player
    • A passion to learn and improve themselves and improve the permit system.
    • Proven experience in being a safe and responsible driver with a “can do” attitude
