About the role

This is a grade 10 role.

In this role you will

  • Facilitate risk workshops and reviews for individual projects required throughout the year across Petroleum projects.
  • Guide project teams in the application of Our Requirements – Risk Management requirements across the Projects portfolio
  • Liaise with the global risk team to assure appropriate application of the new risk management framework and build out of the project material risks
  • Coordinate with material risk owners and critical control owners of project material risks with addressing actions and their annual reviews.
  • Gain alignment between production units and projects to ensure accountability and responsibility for risks.
  • Take part in functional and independent peer reviews of projects through the risk lens
  • Develop and/or support the development of risk deliverables throughout the project tollgating process
  • Populate and review the Petroleum Investment Process Manual (PIPM) worksheets for risk across the portfolio
  • Schedule and coordinate the Project Deep Dive reviews for the head of projects across the Projects portfolio.
  • Establish risk best practices by continuously incorporating lessons learned into Petroleum Projects’ risk assessment and control processes

About You

  • A relevant undergraduate (or higher) technical or HSE degree is required.
  • An ability to work collaboratively between projects, production units, function and the global risk team is required  
  • An ability to challenge assumptions of both project teams and functional representatives is a requirement.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to challenge assumptions and ask questions of project teams and functions
  • Knowledge of BHP Projects and/or BHP Petroleum Projects is preferred, along with a minimum of 7 years of oil and gas industry experience. Previous experience in the assessment of oil and gas risks is a plus.
