About the role

The objective of the Conventional Projects Delivery organization is to ensure that all BHP operated greenfield deepwater facilities globally meet all external and internal technical requirements and safely optimize the value of the development. The group achieves this objective by working collaboratively with a large number of internal functions and external entities, including the vendor community, regulators, and development partners.

This position is a grade 14 role.

In this role you will:
  • Design, select, and/or implement I & A devices and systems on greenfield operated facilities that preserve ALARP, are compliant with all relevant internal and external requirements, and improve safety and/or performance
  • Deliver optimally integrated Information Technology (IT), Operational Technology (OT), and Operational Equipment (OE) systems on future greenfield developments
  • Support the development and implementation of Petroleum’s digital capabilities initiative outcomes in future greenfield developments
  • At times, directly manage internal and/or third party efforts to develop and/or test I & A technologies prior to implementation. Also, as required, provide I & A technical expertise to the greater Petroleum & BHP organizations.

About You

  • You have a Bachelor’ degree in Engineering and at least 15 years experience in the upstream, deepwater oil & gas sector is required. You also have previous leadership experience in deepwater operations.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to evaluate IT, OT, and OE technologies and systems within a Safety Case environment and implement those that optimize the value of greenfield deepwater developments
  • You have the ability to accommodate or negotiate the needs of multiple internal and external stakeholder groups  (Operations, Regulatory, Projects, HSE, etc.) and maintain ALARP while delivering optimal value
  • You have the ability to inform and influence Senior Petroleum Management with respect to the implementation of new technologies
