About the role

The Principal Asset Integrity Audit role is to provide knowledge and expertise in the assurance over the management of Asset Integrity related risks and processes across BHP. This includes the assessment of risks with potential for business interruption, its associated controls, monitoring and improvement. Principal Asset Integrity will manage and conduct audits with high levels of stakeholder engagement and in accordance with the Internal Audit Charter, relevant Our Requirements, and the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing as promulgated by the Institute of Internal Auditors.

In addition, in this role you will:
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to Health and Safety
  • Create a culture of trust and collaboration with the Business to foster learning environment.
  • Plan, execute, report and delivers the audit of Asset Integrity in line with the approved Internal Audit Plan with high degree of quality.
  • Provides Subject Matter Expertise on Asset Integrity discipline to assess the Risks, systems and controls and for the management of risks with significant potential for business interruption or financial impacts in the organisation.
  • Engages with Engineering and Maintenance Centre of Excellence and continuously enhances the Asset Integrity audit program in line with company risks priorities. Develops and maintains professional relationships with businesses representatives.
  • Provides leadership in the continuous development of Asset Integrity by delivering a consistent application of audit process to drive improvement across BHP.
  • Oversees Asset integrity auditors to ensure effective delivery of Asset Integrity scope.
  • Participates in functional initiatives to deliver efficiency opportunities in the application of the internal auditing processes and deliver value-oriented audits.
  • Required travel component – frequent and of long duration.  Approximately 50% travel commitment.

About You

The candidate will have an engineering background and strong knowledge/proven experience in Engineering and Asset Integrity systems, with demonstrated experience on application of at least 15 years. Tertiary qualifications in either, Structural, Civil, Geotechnical or Process Engineering are preferable. 

You will have depth of knowledge and proven experience in the resources mining or manufacturing industry of at least 10 years. Experience in tailings or water storage is welcome. 

You will have track record and proven results in delivering recognised valued and process improvement through influence is essential. You will enjoy working with a diverse and broad range of stakeholders, have engagement skills and the ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels and disciplines. A professional certification in auditing or experience in the assurance activities is desirable.
