About the role

BHP’s Maintenance Centre of Excellence (MCoE) is the coming together of a dedicated, innovative team focused on identifying, achieving and maintaining the highest standards in maintenance for BHP globally.

As the Principal Maintenance Capability based in our Perth offices you will enable the capability development of the Maintenance function by supporting leaders. You will coach and lead in the design and deployment of initiatives aimed at improving Maintenance capability, while supporting the delivery of learning and development interventions in order to sustainably achieve measurable improvement in Maintenance performance.

This is an Perth based role with relocation support provided if required.

In this role, you will also be responsible for:
  • Supporting Maintenance leaders of large, high impact sites to assess capability of their teams through the use of tools & techniques relevant to the maintenance capability framework;
  • Analysis of available information to support in the identification of capability gaps, conduct Capability planning & develop Capability Plans for large, high impact sites; 
  • Monitoring execution (and effectiveness) of site capability plans at large, high impact sites through analysis of information. Coaches line leaders to enable leader-led development within the Maintenance function; and
  • Project managing assigned MCoE capability initiatives (including continuous improvement work).

About You

You will have a solid understanding of Maintenance best practices and of people development for leaders, specialists and tradespeople. Your experience with leading and engaging people and creating an environment of trust and collaboration amongst different operating teams.

You will have successfully completed an Engineering, Trade or Learning/People related qualification together with demonstrated development experience. Having demonstrated experience in similar role would be highly desirable.
