About the role

Reporting to the Head of Program Management Office you will provide expert coaching in continuous improvement (CI) methods, tools and techniques across all project groups through managing the relevant CI program. In addition you will be instrumental in supporting our regional project groups to establish a structured approach on capital efficiency (CE) practices and monitor performance.

This role operates at a national level and can be based in any of our capital cities Brisbane and Perth.

As Principal Continuous Improvement, you will be responsible for:
  • Equip the regional project group for improvement in capital efficiency to sustain consistent processes and routines;
  • Oversee the process for identifying and prioritising improvement projects (safety, culture and productivity) within the Minerals Australia Projects Function;
  • Work with the leadership teams in establishing annual improvement goals;
  • Lead a consistent understanding and application of CI and CE methodology;
  • Effectively manage the stakeholder group relevant to projects within the area of accountability;
  • Promotes awareness of the CI function and builds cross-functional integration through collaboration with other CI leads;
  • Develop and provide the necessary change management system and CI process training to project teams and contractors;
  • Actively promote the value of CI program and effectively continue the momentum within the project group;
  • Effectively support initiative owners through change management process discipline, ensuring that the accountabilities and ownership remain at the assigned level;
  • Support training delivery and coaching and champion rapid replication of great ideas;
  • Facilitation of regional CI meetings and consolidation and reporting of information; and
  • Be a key interface with the Global Projects community and either lead or participate with global initiatives. 

About You

As the preferred candidate, you will possess a high degree of business acumen, with a deep understanding of the interaction between processes, systems and people. You have superior interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence, and build strategic relationships across all organisational levels.
As the main change agent, you will be confident leading to ensure successful partnerships across Minerals Australia Projects.  You will be a confident team player who takes accountability for outcomes and possesses excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
