About the role

Our Global BHP Technology function is undergoing an exciting transformation journey and moving towards more modern ways of working.  Be part of a newly formed global team that partners with our Operations, Functions and Centres of Excellence to drive improvement and innovation in safety, culture, productivity and social value through the application of world class technology.

Reporting to the Manager Architecture, Quality and Compliance, your key accountabilities will include: 
  • Develop overarching strategy and direction for BHPs ERP Solutions as we migrate from R/3 to S/4HANA as part of our NextGen ERP program of work
  • Oversight of Solution Architecture services to Global Applications and ERP projects
  • Provide technical expertise to projects on solution design activities as required
  • Participates as required in the global architecture chapter representing Global Applications and ERP as the lead global ERP Architect
  • Engage with key senior business and technology stakeholders to ensure the adequacy and the sustainability of the ERP landscape
  • Manage matrix relationships when working cross functionally and reporting into other parts of the business 
  • Guide and coaches wider team members on architectural matters and mentors junior members of the team

About You


To be successful in this role, you are likely to be degree qualified, preferably in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) subject or possess the equivalent IT functional experience in a similar role. You will have 10+ years’ post-qualification experience and a TOGAF (or equivalent) certification will be well regarded. Demonstrable experience in Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid Waterfall project methodologies, as well as the ability to lead large matrixed teams and support staff will see you thrive in this role. Proven expertise in developing strategy and roadmaps for complex ERP environments and SAP technology, preferably S/4HANA would be expected. Cross-functional experience (Infrastructure, Applications, Cloud, etc.) and experience of mining, oil and gas, manufacturing or similar environments will also be looked on favourably. 

 As the preferred candidate, you have superior interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop meaningful relationships and influence stakeholders across all organisational levels, including senior management. Your analytical and systems thinking approach will be well refined, and you can understand and communicate highly technical information to non-technical audiences. You will be highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple tasks and demands simultaneously. Experience managing diverse cross-functional global teams and programs will be advantageous in this role.
