About the role


The Principal Renova supports Renova Finance Business Partnership activities and provide efficient, accurate and timely delivery of Finance related advisory, budgeting, planning, forecasting, compliance, risk management, and stewardship processes, which includes the following:
  • Deliver against key focus areas through proactive engagement and influencing using governance framework by working collaboratively within a cross functional teams and subject matter experts.
  • Become member of Renova Fiscal Council and Finance committee with associated governance responsibilities.
  • Conduct financial and risk analysis to develop a recommendation to Renova Board and Technical committees.
  • Effectively manage and coordinate Renova annual budgeting and long term six monthly cost estimate review (provision) process. 
  • Be accountable for the accuracy and completeness of budgeting and provision data and/or analysis provided to senior management or other internal/external stakeholders.  
  • Ensure that the compliance, forecasting and reporting activities are performed on basis and are accurate and efficient including assistance with planning for such activities.
  • Develop business partner relationships with key stakeholders within the businesses and functions as well as externally.
  • Identify process improvements and assist with implementation.

  • Proactively identify and recommend opportunities for internal control implementation & continuous improvement initiatives within work area.
  • Primary focus will be on Brazil Finance matters including controversy management, strategic planning, oversight of budgeting, provision and compliance.
  • Review and recommend to the board and committees Renova approval requests and ensure compliance with BHP approval requirements.
  • Identify continuous sustainable improvement and simplification opportunities in area of responsibility.
  • Under the supervision of the Leadership, assist with the management and monitoring of key financial risk and business decision making.
  • Serve as a member of Renova Fiscal Counsel and Finance Committee . 
  • Maintain strong relationships with the Minerals Americas Business and other functions such as Legal, Accounting & Reporting and Tax.
  • Identify and document financial risks, mitigations and proposals.
  • Manage the reporting calendar related to Renova budget and long term cost estimates.  
  • Coordinate with Finance sub functions (Tax, Treasury, Accounting and Reporting) matters from Renova Fiscal Council and Finance committee.
  • Identify, analyse, and communicate any material changes in budget and cost estimate throughout the year.
  • Provide financial advice on business activities and respond to queries from the Business.
  • Analyse and support monthly funding requests.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders listed under key relationships.

About You

  • Tertiary level qualification in Business and Finance.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA or equivalent preferred).

Experience & Technical Competencies:
  • Experience working with a large corporate or professional environment with more than 5 years of experience.
  • Significant experience with planning, budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and investigated skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong project leadership skills.
  • Superior team player and work cross functionally.
  • Proven ability to provide practical commercial advice while actively managing risk.
  • Strong MS Office software skills.
  • Fluent English and Portuguese, verbal and written (required).
