About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive, dynamic and highly astute professional to join the BHP Finance Function.  

Reporting to the Finance Manager and based in the Perth office, you will be part of the Reporting team for Minerals Australia that ensures accurate reporting of Western Australia Iron Ores (WAIO) consolidated results to our key stakeholders including Group Reporting/WAIO Operations/Finance Business Partners and Investor Relations.

Your primary area of responsibility will include:
  • Review and analysis of WAIO (Monthly, YTD, FY) results including EBITDA, FCF, Unit Cost and Capital
  • Consolidation, review and analysis of WAIO 2YB/5YP and oncycle forecasts, using TM1.
  • Proactively working with IPRO to understand supply chain volume analysis
  • Review of Management Briefing Papers for half year and full year
  • Co-ordination of Quarterly Operational Results, Half Yearly Results and input to annual financial statements
  • Ad hoc queries/analysis and sensitivities for key metrics
  • Drive for continuous improvement and standardisation – including interaction with WCF initiatives for Optimise Reporting and Project Prime
  • Ability to maintain Spotfire visualisation tool

About You

  • Bachelor degree in accounting or finance
  • Experience in consolidation of financial results for actuals and forecast cycles.
  • Experienced user in 1SAP, BOBJ, TM1 or Spotfire (desirable)
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines, identify and resolve problems
  • Capability to work collaboratively with teams and stakeholders.
