About the role

We seek a well-rounded and dynamic individual to join our Tax team as a senior member of the Tax team. You will work with a team of specialists in KL focused on providing efficient, accurate and timely delivery of tax accounting, compliance and stewardship processes as part of a broader tax team across a range of tax jurisdictions.  This includes tax accounting processes, tax compliance, external reporting requirements as well as supporting of ad hoc requests and process improvement initiatives.  There are opportunities for candidates that have experience with taxes in one or more of the following jurisdictions: Australia, UK, Brazil, Canada, Chile or the US.

Key remit:
  • Meet all relevant ethical standards and statutory obligations.
  • Focus on continuous improvement across tax accounting and compliance
  • Directing and coaching team members to ensure that team targets are achieved and personal technical skills continue to develop
  • Leading the tax team by setting expectations, developing competencies, evaluating and managing performance
  • Managing the efficient and effective use of income tax provision and income tax compliance software and other tax compliance and accounting applications and templates
  • Managing the calendar of scheduled submissions to regulators and other stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
  • Ensuring the accurate preparation and timely submission of income tax and returns for other direct and indirect taxes
  • Managing the quality and timeliness of tax accounting submissions
  • Assisting with audit queries from tax regulators, vendors, internal auditors, and external financial statement auditors
  • Reviewing income tax provision calculations and reconciliations to ensure accurate tax balances are reported in the financial statements and that any issues identified are appropriately documented and communicated
  • Managing monthly, half year, and year end close activities with respect to income tax provisions in multiple jurisdictions
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure tax implications of transactions are properly planned and accounted

About You

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in finance or accounting
  • Preferred – Professional accounting qualification
Experience & Technical Competencies
  • Minimum of 7 years working experience within the finance function of a large corporate or professional environment
  • Demonstrated accounting, analytical and investigative skills
  • Significant experience with income taxes in multiple jurisdictions including tax compliance/preparation/filing of income tax returns
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in tax accounting and reporting
  • Working knowledge of SAP; OneSource experience a plus
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills including coaching and development
Non-Technical Competencies:
  • Fluent English, both verbal and written
