About the role

An outstanding opportunity exists for an enthusiastic professional to become part of our Health Analysis and Improvement team based in the Perth office. The Principal Health Analysis and Improvement role is responsible for providing leadership, direction and expert advice to the Minerals Australia Western Australia Assets and key stakeholders on all health matters. This will include analysis of performance data to identify improvement opportunities, development and management of projects and supporting the deployment of projects.

In this role, you will:
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify future worker health implications
  • Input health subject matter expertise into risk assessments and reviews
  • Create risk based, region specific health programs in line with global health initiatives
  • Design and establish Health standards, procedures and systems for asset projects
  • Provide high level technical advice for workplace exposures, fitness for work programs, injury/illness classification and case management
  • Contribute to the Mental Wellness Steering Committee
  • Participate in global health initiatives and industry workshops
  • Maintain health enterprise systems (e.g. Medgate) and manage medicals
  • Manage EAP, physiotherapy, nominated medical advisors and occupation physician providers
  • Have a working knowledge of local OHS Acts, Regulations and Standards across Western Australia

About You

By nature you are proactive and strategic in your thinking, and have well developed project management and execution skills.  With proven success in working in a fast paced environment, you are agile in your approach whilst being able to deliver on multiple projects. 

You are at ease in working autonomously as well as collaborating with the broader team to deliver on business objectives. Your communication, negotiating and influencing skills will be key strengths and you are able to build relationship at all organisational levels.  

You will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a health related discipline – OHS, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, human movements or related field working ideally in a large complex environment ideally within mining or heavy industry.
