About the role

We are currently seeking a Principal Analyst in the field of Fixed Plant Maintenance, who will be responsible for identifying, selecting, defining and delivering strategic initiatives across the Maintenance Services Portfolio, whilst providing direction, coaching and alignment to the Maintenance Services Lead Team.
Reporting to the Manager Maintenance Services within WAIO Maintenance, your responsibilities will include work across the following:
• Develop the Maintenance Services strategy that aligns to the broader WAIO Maintenance and WAIO 2YB and 5YP
• Work with the execution teams to develop a pipeline of initiatives that will deliver a step change in the performance of Maintenance Services
• Key contributor to the 5Y and 2Y OPEX budgets.
• Partnering with maintenance services lead team and key stakeholders to understand key opportunities to optimise services
• Prepares and delivers business cases, project management plans front end loading plans and financial estimates
• Ensures all operational readiness and change management is in place for key strategic initiatives.
• Collaborating with our Contracts team on strategic commercial initiatives.
• Co-ordinating between execution, engineering, finance and operations teams to develop operational strategy
• Ensure conformance with the BHP Billiton Charter, the BHP Billiton Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
• Set a leading example of step up behaviour, by developing staff, managing risk, problem solving and achieving results.
• Build the team by using people’s strengths and experience, sharing information and encouraging different points of view.
• An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
• Conduct Field Leadership Activities, including Layered Audits, Planned Task Observations, Critical Control Observations and Take Time Talks.
You will be located in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square’. About You

You will be a strategic thinker with a business analyst and commercial background and an understanding of maintenance services and the commercial and contractual elements that underpin these. You will have a strong strategic focus and the ability to influence and lead change, supported by excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to manage relationships effectively to deliver on business initiatives.You will also have:
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Engineering, Commerce, Economics or Business
• Post Graduate Qualifications such as an MBA highly regarded
• Evidence delivering on strategic initiatives within heavy industry or Resourcing
• Proven influencing and stakeholder management skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical ability
• Strong financial literacy and commercial acumen
• C’ class driver’s licence is essential
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite
