About the role

We are currently looking for a high performer to take on a Principal Maintenance role in our Maintenance Pathways and Re-design team. This is a 24 month fixed term role. Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance. The role is based in Brisbane or Perth with significant site travel.

In this role you will:
  • Provide technical expertise in maintenance re-design projects within operations services, the wider business, consultants and OEMs
  • Engage across many functions including but not limited to Maintenance and Engineering Centre of Excellence, Maintenance teams on site and Standardised Work teams
  • Influence and lead changes across Minerals Australia
  • Development of documentation associated with maintenance re-design and pathways
  • Assist with the management of documentation and associated management of change at a Minerals Australia Level.
  • Lead consistency in the development of maintenance re-design and pathways across Minerals Australia
  • Be a motivated, engaged and supportive team member; 
  • Be involved in risk management associated with maintenance activities on repairs and rotable items
    Conduct audits on the implementation of changes

About You

  • Possess a good technical understanding of maintenance repairs and rotables, and the processes associated with them within BHP
  • Have a good technical understanding of maintenance on mobile and fixed plant equipment in mining
  • Possess a deep understanding of opportunities, risks and processes in maintenance and link concepts and projects to its strategic importance.
  • Previous experience in the mining industry will be valued, as will experience in providing technical support to maintenance teams.
  • You will be forward thinking, always seeking opportunities for improvement, have an ability to influence others, including senior management as well as manage change.
  • Trade qualifications in a relevant discipline are desirable. Additional relevant tertiary qualifications also desirable.
