The Principal Operations Technology Operations Mining Autonomy is an expert in the field of Autonomous Systems and owns the end to end service within the Operational Technology Sub function.  This role also approves the maintenance strategies,  plans and schedules within the area of responsibility for all deployed technologies to ensure autonomous systems are maintained, equipment and infrastructure is maintained in compliance with, work instructions and defined processes, and work schedules to achieve optimal maintenance outcomes.

Working amongst a team of expert and passionate individuals, you will be the go to person when it comes to management and governance of Autonomous Systems. It is an incredible opportunity to pioneer and develop solid operational frameworks that would lead the way not only for BHP but also for the Industry. 
  • You develop and maintain the technology standards and processes for Autonomous Systems;  
  • You manage relevant outsourced vendor agreements and services;
  • You translate business requirements into the application to ensure efficiency of the mine planning; 
  • Provide leadership support and guidance in maintaining Autonomous Systems policy, process and procedures; and,
  • Manage ongoing technology delivery to service level agreements from projects to application and asset owners.
In this role you will actively engage with sites across assets to develop strong relationships with your internal and external stakeholders.

Interested?

About You

You have a tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a STEM qualification. You have experience in Mobile Controls Systems including autonomous systems such as, Modular Frontrunner or Minestar. You know how to use and configure Asset Health Monitoring tools and develop appropriate and relevant analytics.

Safety comes as your first focus and you have an eye for continuous improvement. You understand mining operations and have proven experience in the delivery of support services.

You like learning and have excellent oral and written communication skills. You can present information to different audiences adapting your style and content to ensure appropriate message are conveyed.

You will be in an influential role and will be BHP SME for our autonomous systems. We will provide you with training and support to set you up for success, and expect you to coach and develop team members.
