About the role

This role provides advice and executes tasks in the provision of project planning and scheduling to Projects.  An individual with solid experience in planning and scheduling.  Provides technical guidance to Project Management team, Commercial team, PE&C team, along with external contractors and consultants as required. 

This position is a grade 12 role.

In this role you will:
  • Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, BHP Requirements and Standards, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
  • Utilises the planning and scheduling standards and practices in the provision of project services for studies/projects.
  • Provides planning and scheduling expertise and support to the Projects team.
  • Develops appropriate schedules for multiple studies/projects given their scope, complexity, and other relevant factors.
  • Work closely with cost estimators to ensure schedule can be integrated into the cost model for phasing.
  • Leads and conducts Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA) as required. 
  • Guides and coaches project personnel on the requirements and implementation of planning and scheduling principals.
  • Is proactive in input to planning and scheduling processes, systems and standards used across BHP Projects.

About You


Qualifications
  • Undergraduate qualifications in Business (Finance or Accounting Major), Engineering or Quantity Surveying

Skills
  • Ability to engage with & communicate effectively across multiple business units and functional areas
  • Exceptional productivity which demonstrates reliability in getting the job done accurately and on time
  • Facilitate /coordinate Monthly Project Status Reporting
  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to apply the business strategy into the way we work
  • Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Skilled in Scheduling Systems (e.g. P6, PRA, MS Project, etc.)
  • Strong technical expertise in planning/scheduling principles and practices.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance to Specialist personnel.

Experience
  • 10+ years of practical experience in a project environment
  • Strong experience in Planning/Scheduling
  • Strong experience with Planning/Scheduling software (P6, MS Project)
  • Demonstrated experience with project management systems & techniques
