About the role

Reporting to the Manager of Delivery, Technology (BMA) within Minerals Australia, you will provide portfolio and program management experience, in the execution of Technology Projects for our BMA Coal asset. 
This is a key role, supporting and enabling program/project managers and their teams involved in the execution of the Coal Technology Project Portfolio, and includes significant stakeholder engagement across our BMA sites, BHP functions and partners/suppliers.  
In this role you will:
  • Have accountability for the programs and projects included within your portfolio, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of expected outcomes;
  • Develop and foster relationships with Asset and site representatives, Technology Business Partners and external vendors;
  • Support the program/project managers and their teams, such that they are enabled to deliver work in line with agreed scope, time and budget considerations, acting as a point of escalation when required;
  • Provide Delivery Methodology guidance and advice as required, to project/program managers;
  • Ensure works within the portfolio align with necessary investment, budgeting and forecasting methods and frameworks;
  • Provide strategic and operational guidance and input to our Portfolio, Program and Project Management processes, frameworks and systems;
  • Engage with Site Operations, Technology Business Partners and Technology Planning to ensure the portfolio, programs and projects are aligned to the required priorities and overarching plans;
  • Actively contribute to a positive, high performance culture, and
  • Be a key enabler for the Technology team to deliver on its safety, productivity and culture outcomes across all technology projects.

About You

  • Experienced in project, program and portfolio management and have worked in technology delivery environments, with mining or heavy industry technology highly regarded;
  • Demonstrated leader with superior communication skills and able to build meaningful relationships with your peers;
  • A strong understand of site HSEC requirements and to ensure projects incorporate routines that contribute to Safety In Design, Risk Assessment and Management;
  • You have contributed to the development and delivery of programs and portfolios, and their associated processes and governance;
  • Must have strong commercial acumen and able to apply that to your decision processes and delivery;
  • You are highly collaborative, with effective communication skills and have proven experience in leading teams and projects in large complex environments involving a high number of stakeholders; and
  • Possess a graduate qualification in a STEM subject.
