About the role

Our global BHP Technology Function works closely with our Operations, Functions and Centres of Excellence to drive improvement in safety, culture, productivity and social value through the application of world class technology. As part of the Enterprise and Global Project Delivery Group, you will be accountable for the successful execution of a portfolio of projects in a diverse range of applications and technologies that enable the safe and efficient operation of our businesses.  This role is based in Singapore.In the role of Principal Program Manager you will:
  • Manage the delivery of complex technology enterprise projects ensuring that projects are pragmatically delivered to budget, schedule and agreed customer expectations;
  • Engage with business and Technology stakeholders at various levels of the organization to build effective and trusted working relationships;
  • Lead multi-disciplinary and geographically distributed project teams; 
  • Develop, plan and maintain work assignments and support team members to achieve project and delivery commitments
  • Manage end to end activities in a project including design, build, test and deployment.
  • Ensure appropriate organizational change management and operational readiness activities are undertaken such that solutions are effectively embedded such that the desired business outcomes and benefits are achieved;  
  • Ensure technology solutions delivered are fit for purpose, align with Technology standards and are supportable;
  • Maintain project portfolio reporting and deliver effective project communications.

About You

Familiarity with best practice project management frameworks incorporating vendor management, quality assurance, organizational change management, commissioning and operational readiness. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant STEM discipline is required.

Key criteria includes;
  • Demonstrable experience in managing technology programs and projects with budgets up to $5M-10M across regional and global locations to deliver effective technology solutions through pragmatically applying industry standard project methodologies.
  • Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience as per the Program manager, in implementing complex SAP and other enterprise solutions, with at least 2-3 full cycle implementation, preferably in a large corporation, with a global service provider and/or consulting firm. 
  • Good SAP technical and business process knowledge with an ability to understand functional / technical concepts. Experience with Commercial, Supply chain business processes and associated data flows and impacts especially related to commodity trading.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, Mining industry is preferred
  • Disciplined approach to project schedule, financial and risk management.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies, including Agile methods (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
  • Demonstrable experience in effectively engaging globally dispersed stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams within matrix structures.
  • Strong business relationship management skills with the ability to shape and influence senior stakeholders.
  • High energy work ethic, tenacity and patience along with attention to detail.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical decision-making capability.
  • Effective communicator (both verbal and written) with solid interpersonal skills, excellent presentation skills and able to convey information to non-technical colleagues in a concise and clear way.
