About the role


We seek highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic Inventory team as a Regional Inventory Partner. This role will liaise between regional operations and the Inventory teams. The high level engagement of this role will promote continuous improvement, optimal service and build operational context within our centralised teams

Core Accountabilities
  • Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations. 
  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development. 
  • A core focus of this role will be driving world class production performance through: 
    • Building collaboration and connectivity between the centralised and regional Inventory Teams, Operational stakeholders;
    • Identifying opportunities to improve Parts Availability and Working Capital through engagement of key stakeholders and monitoring of critical business metrics, leads and participates in projects and acts as change agents in the regions;
    • Frequent site visits on a periodic basis to build relationship with Business stakeholders, resolve escalations provide support to close any gaps or issues in Supply processes;
    • Supporting the development of the centralised teams through sharing operational context and urgency across the centralised Inventory Team;
    • Acts as a change agent in the Regions to champion and clearly articulate changes to existing  processes to ensure business readiness and embedment of improvement initiatives in the Business
    • Act as the second point of escalation between Inventory and the Business regarding Inventory processes, overdue queries and requests.
  • Participate and support activities such that Inventory meets the Business Plan and meets Department and Global KPIs. 
  • Assist the Regional and GAS inventory teams in resolving complex issues, review of work allocation, and any associated activities to manage team’s performance.
  • Assist the Operational teams or leaders in resolving any supply chain associated activities or issues to ensure optimal business performance.
  • Assist the centralised Inventory leads in continuously updating and improving procedures, training, and to meet the general expectations of the business.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree and / or similar qualification in a commercial, business and/or technical discipline

Experience & Technical Competencies
  • Pragmatic commercial outlook and exemplary judgement (balances business value vs. risk) to deliver best outcome for BHP 
  • Ability to present and engage with senior stakeholders
  • Understanding of Inventory processes
  • Understanding of Work Management processes 
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and training
  • Demonstrated experience with Inventory Analytics & Strategy
  • Demonstrated experience with Inventory reporting 
  • Collaborative mind-set and advanced interpersonal skills. 
  • Capable in building constructive long term relationships. 
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in complex and ambiguous environments 
  • Communication skills enabling the influencing of a diverse stakeholder group
