About the role

BHP Billiton's Marketing activities are undertaken through a centralised marketing organisation with a network of offices across the world supporting our major customer markets and the distribution of product from our operations. A majority of Marketing staff are located in Asia with Singapore being the primary hub office.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Sales to join the Marketing team in New Delhi. The role is accountable for supporting the execution of the marketing activities in global and/or regional markets, in line with agreed marketing objectives and strategies. 

  • Support the marketing team in line with agreed marketing objectives and strategies 
  • Support the correct capture and maintenance of all commercial marketing contracts;
  • Close liaison with the group's producing assets to ensure alignment of budgets, forecasts, production and sales activities;
  • Collaboration with the global team of Marketing Managers in their daily commercial activities;
  • Translation of market information, indices and knowledge into value generating propositions;
  • Collect market information and exchange with relevant key relationships;
  • Build and maintain (long term) favourable relationships with suppliers, customers and other key relationships;
  • Ensure adherence of marketing activities to all relevant governance internal and external rules, regulations, policies and legislation;
  • Provide all relevant information, including analysis for budget, performance review and management reporting purposes;
  • Assist and support the General Manager Sales / Head of Sales Liaison / Head of Sales with projects as required;

About You

A Bachelors/ Master's degree in a commercial, business and/or technical discipline or adequate business experience with 5 plus years working experience in sales/marketing roles in commodity markets will be highly regarded. Computer literate and SAP experience highly recommended. Candidates must be willing to travel overseas on a regular basis and have an ability to work in a multicultural environment with good interpersonal and leadership skills essential. Fluent in English, both verbal and written and a knowledge of other languages advantageous.
