About the role

As Principal, you will proactively improve functionality, operational stability, availability and performance of Coal integration service consisting of Application Integration (ESB), API Management, Event Driven Integration, Data Integration and Managed File Transfer capabilities.

An exciting role in a team of passionate talented technology specialists striving for continuous improvement of critical systems leveraging the latest technologies and methodologies, tasks include:

  • Setting and embedding the principles, standards and patterns for integration development
  • Evangelising and embedding CI/CD for integration development
  • Improving instrumentation in integration services to aid robust monitoring, alerting and defect identification
  • Leading resources in Agile SCRUM for delivery of integration requirements using onshore & offshore resources
  • Identify and lead initiatives for the improvement of integration service reliability, stability and performance
  • Provide subject matter expertise for the integration architecture, design, and maintenance
  • Provide technical expertise and stewardship towards improvement of the integration service stability, reliability and performance
  • Lead problem management and root cause analysis for failures
  • Develop strong relationships with other BHP teams, service partners, and vendors
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement across people, process, technology and cost

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have proven recent and deep experience (design and architecture) in
  • MuleSoft AnyPoint Platform

And proven recent and intermediate experience (design and architecture) in at least one of the following:
  • Solace PubSub+ Platform
  • StreamSets ControlHub and Data Collector
  • GoAnywhere Managed File Transfer
  • Exposure and proficiency in the following is highly desirable.
  • AWS/Azure fundamentals
  • AWS/Azure Integration PaaS offerings
  • Architectural modelling techniques (ArchiMate, TOGAF)
  • Data management methodologies
  • Industrial IoT
  • ServiceNow

You will have a tertiary qualification in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or similar discipline and have strong’ post-qualification experience designing, developing, maintaining and supporting complex n-tier applications. You have strong analytical skills with an excellent understanding of root cause analysis, 5 whys or similar problem investigation methodologies.

As the preferred candidate, you have superior interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop meaningful relationships and influence stakeholders across all organisational levels. Your ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks, projects and stakeholders simultaneously will be critical. You can understand and communicate highly technical information to non-technical audiences. An ability to lead teams, including third-party vendors and support staff, will be looked on favourably.
