About the role

Reporting to the VP Risk Insights, you will lead global reviews to identify any opportunities to enhance the management of the Group’s most significant operational and strategic risks.

Your responsibilities are to:
  • Maintain the global process and schedule for reviewing the Group’s most significant operational and strategic risks (Priority Group Risks)
  • Lead and motivate teams to successfully deliver global in-depth reviews and verification of the Priority Group Risks
  • Manage multiple concurrent reviews, ensuring they are appropriately planned, resourced and monitored to deliver the agreed scope with a high degree of quality
  • Work collaboratively with, and influence, diverse stakeholder groups to identify and verify the delivery of key actions that will enhance the Group’s understanding and management of Priority Group Risks in line with the Group’s risk appetite
  • Communicate review outcomes across all levels of the organisation, including executive management and the Board, to enhance understanding and drive continuous improvement in managing Priority Group Risks

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following attributes:
  • Work across functional boundaries to gain commitment to solving large and complex problems
  • Monitor the internal and external context and draw on broad networks to identify emerging risks and issues, red flags and opportunities
  • Provide guidance, reporting and insight to senior leaders and the Board on the effectiveness of controls to manage risk and deliver value  
  • Use knowledge and intelligence to validate recommendations and ensure strategies and decisions create value and competitive advantage
  • Quickly grasp complex multi-discipline issues by engaging with team members / stakeholders close to the problem

Ideally, you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Extensive experience in risk management and assurance and a deep knowledge of professional risk (ISO31000, COSO, and RIMS) and audit standards and relevant regulatory frameworks
  • Experience leading major / global projects and diverse project teams
  • Extensive experience liaising with, and influencing, diverse stakeholder groups spanning technical / operational disciplines, senior executives and boards
  • Strong analytical skills and evaluative judgment in complicated or novel situations, with attention to detail and quality control to ensure work is factually accurate and free from error
