About the role

South Walker Creek Mine currently has a vacancy for an accomplished and highly skilled Processing Engineer in the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant. As part of the CHPP Process Engineering team this position is responsible for identifying opportunities and delivering technical solutions to ensure that the CHPP achieves production, efficiency and quality targets.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Monitoring of day to day plant operation and initiating corrective actions to rectify coal losses;
  • Identify and deliver projects to optimise CHPP operation in terms of Safety, Volume and Cost;
  • Work closely with Operations, Mine Planning, Maintenance and Coal Mining personnel to ensure that feed quality and blend quality targets are met;
  • Achieve best practice for CHPP operating processes through application of the BMA Processing Standards; and
  • Coaching and mentoring of less experienced engineers.

About You

The successful candidate will be required to have:

  • Extensive processing plant experience in a similar industry;
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety;
  • Proven delivery of improvement projects;
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team; and
  • Degree qualification will be highly regarded however not essential.
