About the role

We are actively seeking the talents of an innovative and driven Superintendent Process Support to join the Nickel West Team based in Kwinana.This newly created role reports to the Manager Operations. It will play a key part in Nickel West’s transition to becoming a specialty chemical supplier to the battery industry as our new Nickel Sulphate plant comes online.

In this capacity, you will be tasked with:
  • Leading the Packaging and Laboratory teams and aligning them to the strict quality standards required of battery manufacturing feed materials.
  • Engaging with our Marketing team to develop and grow Nickel West’s reputation as a producer of high quality nickel sulphate.
  • Engaging with internal teams to set systems and processes in place to eliminate product quality deviations.

About You

To be successful in this role you will be an extremely collaborative and engaging leader with outstanding communication skills. You are team oriented and results focused with a demonstrated track record in mentoring and coaching others to achieve results.

You have previous success in developing cohesive, high performing teams, are incredibly results focused with a demonstrated track record driving effective business outcomes.

In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:
  • Experience in an operational leadership role with a Production or Processing focus
  • Progressive thinker with understanding of agile methodologies
  • Demonstrative commitment to safe production
  • Innovative, results oriented individual with the ability to slice through complex problems, influence and inspire others to achieve results
  • Financial acumen and ability to understand and running a cost effective operation and teams

Located 30 kilometres south of the Perth, the Nickel West Kwinana produces nickel briquettes and nickel powder.  While many employees live in Perth, Fremantle and Mandurah, the Kwinana region is a thriving coastal township with three public beaches, excellent schools, modern shopping facilities and a wide variety of housing options.  As part of our commitment to health and safety Nickel West Kwinana is a smoke free operation.We are investing in a Nickel Sulphate plant to be built at our Kwinana refinery south of Perth. We believe there are significant competitive advantages for Nickel West to move downstream into the battery chemical business.
