 Nickel West is a fully integrated mine-to-market business. Our culture is rich with technical know-how, highly efficient and focused on innovation. About the role

  We are currently seeking an experienced Process Technician to work within our Kambalda production team. At the Kambalda Concentrator we mill and dry nickel concentrate which is then railed to the Smelter at Kalgoorlie.  

As a Process Technician, you will be responsible for the safe operation of control systems, loaders and other machinery, conduct workplace inspections, carry out data collection, maintain accurate records and participating in continuous cost and process improvement initiatives to help us build a better business.

About You

  • A commitment to always work safely and be proactive in identifying safety hazards and controls
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to learn
  • Sound literacy and numeracy skills are essential, whilst having the ability to be proactive and show initiative
  • Experience in a production environment will be advantageous

·         Live in or close to Kambalda, or be willing to relocate yourself nearby

Nickel West Kambalda and Kalgoorlie

Kambalda is situated 55kms from the city of Kalgoorlie, which is the largest inland city in Western Australia and due to its central location is positioned at the heart of the Goldfields as a vibrant mining town and a major gateway to the Eastern States. Although fairly isolated, the City of Kalgoorlie/Boulder offers modern shopping facilities, a huge variety of sports, and schooling for all ages up to high school. There are contemporary housing options for all budgets, sporting clubs and leisure complexes of all descriptions. Kambalda itself has a fluctuating population of 3,000 – 5,000, shopping facilities, sports and schooling for all ages up to year 10.

The Kambalda Nickel Concentrator receives nickel concentrate from third party mining operations with the capacity to process up to 360,000 tonnes per annum of nickel concentrate. 

All Kambalda and Kalgoorlie roles are residential, FIFO is not an option.  Nickel West Kambalda is a non-smoking operation.
