About the role

Reporting to the Inflow Supervisor, you will be part of the Fixed Plant Processing Team at Whaleback working across crushing and screening plants in a multi-disciplined role. 

The roles are residential based in Newman on a lifestyle roster - 4D5X5N4X5D5X4N5X5D4X5N5X. We will offer you and your family relocation from Perth. You will be provided with subsidised rental accommodation including power and water subsidies whilst residing in Newman. 

The 7,000 strong population of Newman enjoys well-established town facilities including a newly revitalized town center and sporting facilities.  As a gateway to the Karijini national park, you will be in close proximity to spectacular gorges, water courses and stunningly unique landscapes. 

Your responsibilities with-in the role include but are not limited to:

  • Promote and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day.
  • Responsible for the running of crushing, dry screening, wet screening, conveyors and mobile plant equipment.
  • Ensure all safe work systems, procedures and standards are adhered to through frequent monitoring of the processing plant by carrying our schedule inspection of the workplace.
  • Involved with the fault finding of fixed plant operations
  • Communications with supervisors, controllers, Mechanical and Electrical Technicians,
  • Care and basic maintenance of mobile plant equipment.
  • Complete field leadership activities and participate in site safety programs 

About You

This is an exciting opportunity for a safety-focused individual ideally with a background in processing and mine production environment. 
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following: 
  • Previous mineral wet plant processing experience ideally coupled with mining production experience
  • Proven commitment to look after your own well-being and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way.
  • Minimum of C class driver’s license
  • Skid steer, excavator, rock-breaker, confined space and working at height licences looked upon favorably.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrate basic administrative and/or computing skills
