About the role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Excavator Operator to join our production team at Mining Area C. The successful individual will report to the Supervisor, Mining Production, and will demonstrate the following:
  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
  • Contribute to the achievement of production goals through the operation of hydraulic excavators - Liebherr 996 & 9400 & Hitachi 3600 experience preferred
  • Experience on the following equipment would be beneficial; D10 Dozers, WA1200 Loaders, Cat 16M Graders
  • Training assessing skills and/or the willingness to be involved in training activities.
  • Build relationships across functions to support production and contribute to a positive working environment.
  • Identify, report and rectify hazards.
  • Conduct safety critical inspections to a high level.
  • Develop quality, task-based risk assessments.
  • Participate in field leadership activities.
  • Enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
  • A proven track record of safe work practices in a high risk environment
  • Current full West Australian “C” class motor vehicle license or current equivalent Australian State motor vehicle license
  • Proven track record of hazard identification and resolution
  • A motivated problem solver who is dedicated to continuously improving their work environment
  • An energetic and enthusiastic approach to work, with a drive to develop and learn
  • Demonstrated experience working in a diverse team environment
  • Sound time management skills 
  • Strong history of field leadership participation

Mining Area C You will be based at our ‘Area C’ mine site on a fly-in fly-out 2/1 roster.  Our Area C mine is located approximately 100kms North West of Newman, Western Australia. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
