About the role

We are seeking a number of Relief Open Cut Examiner (OCE) / Production Operators to join our operation at Poitrel Mine Site on a 7 days on / 7 days off roster. Reporting to the Supervisor Production, this permanent opportunity based in Central Queensland will see you operate machinery, as well as conducting statutory inspections and compliance activities at the mine site.

Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting the Site Systems team in the effective development and implementation of the Safety and Health Management System. This opportunity presents the successful candidate a chance work in a dynamic leadership role where you can leverage your experience in the safety, compliance and legislative aspects of the Queensland Open Cut Examiners (OCE) qualification.

About You

You will have an unwavering commitment to safety and this will be clearly demonstrated throughout your prior experience. You will also have strong verbal communication and engagement skills and you will use your ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities on a daily basis.  As the successful applicant you will also have:

A current QLD OCE qualification
• Previous experience working in an open cut coal mining environment
• Experience operating an excavator or dozer highly beneficial, but not mandatory
• Demonstrated Leadership skills in order to be a good role model for the team
• The capability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
• Ability to operate under pressure in order to achieve the best outcomes for your team and the operation
• A desire to coach and lead employees pertaining to their effectiveness as well as on health and safety issues
• A basic working knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs including the Microsoft Office Suite
• An understanding of SAP (other asset management software / processes) and the OCE Reporting Tool (OCERT) is beneficial but not required and
• A positive and energetic nature.
