About the role

This exciting role will be critical in ensuring our blasting activities comply with relevant statutory requirements. A key focus of this role is to lead, co-ordinate and mentor the blast crew. You will monitor and report against the drill and blast work plan and participate in reconciliations to ensure the achievement of blasting targets.In this role, you will lead and facilitate the coordination of contractors to safeguard timely supply of explosives.

About You

As the Shotfirer and a member of Blasting team, you will have demonstrated experience in a large-scale open pit mining operation with expertise in blasting and appointed shot firing activities. For this role, it is essential to hold a valid Dangerous Goods Security Card and WA Shot Firer's licence in addition to having experience operating loaders, forklifts, and mobile processing units (MPU).You will utilise your strong communication, negotiation, influencing and excellent relationship building skills in order to support best practice implementation. Experience in electronic detonation systems highly regarded.
