Our OperationsOne of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 5/2 residential, or 5/2/4/3 FIFO from Adelaide roster arrangement.

About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Analysis & Improvement (A&I) Surface the Electrical Reliability Engineer A&I will be involved in supporting the sites’ maintenance function to achieve maintenance excellence. We are seeking an Engineer with a driving commitment to safe work practices with a proactive approach to improving equipment reliability used for the processing of ore into Copper, Uranium, Silver and Gold.In this role you will:
  • Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
  • Engage in daily safety leadership activities and discussions to promote achievement of personal and team safety goals
  • Provide engineering advice to support the maintenance function to safely execute repair works and routine inspections
  • Participate in root cause analysis investigations on breakdowns
  • Implement maintenance strategies to improve plant reliability
  • Analyse key reliability data to identify improvement areas
  • Apply problem solving skills to a diverse range of opportunities
  • Develop your knowledge of a vast array of equipment and machinery used in the conversion of stockpile ore all the way through to finished refined products

About You

  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
  • Degree qualified in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline preferred
  • Exposure to and understanding of equipment reliability, asset management and CMMS
  • Expertise in Electrical and Instrumentation trouble shooting
  • Open to new challenges and experiences, combined with proactive and intuitive problem solving skills
  • Highly engaged, collaborative and committed to building mutually beneficial relationships across functional teams
  • Root cause analysis and defect elimination experience will be considered advantageous, but not essential
  • Reliability management experience with exposure to RCM and FMECA will be considered advantageous, but not essential
  • 6 Sigma qualification and experience preferred but not essential
