About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent Reliability Engineering, within the Fixed Plant team your duties will include:
  • Demonstrates an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
  • Responsible for the day to day reliability of fixed plant assets and maintenance improvement projects
  • Facilitate the development, implementation and maintenance of common standards including improvements to processes and systems
  • Conduct root cause failure analysis investigations
  • Conduct defect elimination projects in conjunction with our functional support teams
  • Work closely with the execution teams to assist and coach in plant

About You

If you are an outcome focused, energetic person who is passionate about safety and have the ability to build great relationships, then you will be an ideal candidate to be part of our team.

To be successful in this role you will have either a Tertiary qualification in a Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering discipline or Trade qualification with diverse experience in maintenance.

An analytical problem solver you will bring experience with continuous improvement methodologies and an understanding of standardised work practices.

A performance and achievement orientated professional, your technical strengths will be complemented by excellent relationship management skills enabling you to influence and lead successful change in a challenging and complex environment. Energetic and driven, with a strong understanding of safe operations and safe behaviour fundamentals. You will work well under pressure bringing a high attention to detail and the consistent ability to meet multiple deadlines.

With this role you have the choice of either being residentially based in Newman. or FIFO (5/2/4/3 or 5/2/4/3/9/5)You will be working at ‘Mount Whaleback’ mine site, which at more than five kilometres long and nearly 1.5 kilometres wide is the biggest single-pit open-cut iron ore mine in the world. The 7,000 strong population of Newman enjoys well-established town facilities including a newly revitalised town centre and sporting facilities. As a gateway to the Karijini national park, you will be in close proximity to spectacular gorges, water courses and stunningly unique landscapes.
