About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Planning and Reliability Superintendent, the Reliability Engineer will provide specialist advice, engage crews, identify and implement improvement initiatives that enable Maintenance excellence and support business priorities.

This role is located at South Walker Creek Mine, which is 140km SW of Mackay, with a choice of flexible rosters and travel arrangements.

Key responsibilities: 
  • Build business partnerships and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business;
  • Strong levels of engagement to identify where we can improve our site safety and performance.
  • Develop, implement and facilitate improvement initiatives across maintenance through sound financial and technical analysis;
  • Support condition monitoring analysis and actions from detailed oil, vibration and thermographic analysis;
  • Initiate, facilitate and conduct root cause analysis (e.g. 5 Whys, Apollo, Causal Tree, Fish-bone) for heavy mobile equipment, draglines and process plant downtime events;
  • Analyse work management, plant and equipment performance;
  • Provide technical input and optimisation of the maintenance strategies for equipment across site; and
  • Provide technical support to maintenance execution to support work quality and safe execution of work.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have either a mechanical engineering qualification, trade qualification and or equivalent with relevant reliability and asset management experience with heavy mobile equipment, draglines and/or process plant. Defect elimination and root cause analysis experience coupled with analytical and problem solving skills will ensure success in this role. Experience with SAP and excel skills will be advantageous. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to support cross-departmental engagement and effective communication throughout multiple levels of the business.
