About the role

The Trinidad and Tobago Production Unit subsurface team is responsible for the BHP operated oil and gas producing assets in Block 2(c) and the Block 3(a) Ruby development project. A new ocean bottom node seismic survey acquired in 2018 represents an opportunity to identify infill targets and mature near-field exploration opportunities that could form additional tie back options.
The Reservoir Engineer is needed to work collaboratively with multi-discipline teams to optimize base production, progress the Ruby development project and evaluate future opportunities for growth. 

In this role you will:
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to support maximization of the base asset value through reservoir management, production surveillance and optimization activities
  • Deliver subsurface engineering technical evaluations for the design and execution of Ruby Development project and make technical and economic recommendations including the field development concept, production profiles, and design basis
  • Evaluate and progress growth opportunities for future investment in discovered resources and near-field exploration
  • Accountable for delivering reserves and contingent resource updates per SEC and SPE-PRMS guidelines that are consistent, timely and accurate.
  • Support life of asset plans and budget activities
  • Engage with Assurance and Subsurface teams across the company to share and implement best practice
  • Present clear and concise summaries and interface with internal and external stakeholders.


About You

You will have a B.S in Engineering or higher and must have a demonstrated track record of high performance and delivery

Experience & Technical Competencies:
  • Preferred 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong reservoir engineering skill set with a good understanding of reservoir management, well operations, and geoscience to help optimize production and value.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in building and running numerical simulation models and network models
  • Experience working conventional exploration or appraisal and producing assets is preferred
  • Strong integrator of information and analysis within and across teams
  • Proficiency in the use of various engineering software such as Eclipse, Prosper, GAP, MBAL, Saphir, PVTSim and Petrel
  • Skilled at crafting and delivering clear, concise technical presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
