About the role

The Risk Business Partner is the single point of contact for the business including relationship, knowledge, and integrated second line assurance management. Responsible for implementing the risk management framework; to build a complete and accurate understanding of Petroleum risks and to assist management to incorporate risk into decision-making. Also responsible for providing business support, training and development to the first line focused on 2LoD (with assistance of “pooled” resources in APAC and Americas).
  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
  • Lead relationship with the business to:
    • Support implementation and execution of the new risk management framework, including setting goals for implementation and integration into business processes.
    • Broaden the Asset, Functions or Marketing risk radar by considering material and non-material, strategic, reporting, and compliance risks, in addition to operational risks.  
    • Coach line management on how to successfully apply the risk management process so that there is standard application across BHP.
    • Deliver training and build capability in the risk management framework.
    • Support line management to maintain an effective control environment (with consideration to both efficiency and effectiveness for control design, verification, and testing) and to implement the Risk Architecture (RAS, KRIs).
    • Identify local and operational emerging risks and changing regulatory requirements and alert line management for inclusion in the local risk profile.


About You

  • Ten plus years’ experience in the drilling/ offshore oil & gas industry
  •  Knowledge of professional standards (ISO31000, COSO, RIMS, or equivalent)
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering or other relevant field
  • Five plus years of experience leading and managing teams.
  • Fully proficiency in English and able to read and understand Spanish
  • Oil &Gas or other relevant industry experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of Oil & Gas industry, with focus on offshore drilling
  • SAP Risk Management experience preferred.
