About the role

The IPRO Production Scheduling team are looking for several Senior Mining Engineers to fill positions across our operations. The Production Scheduling team is responsible for generating the monthly and weekly mine schedules, along with the designs that enable their successful execution. The Senior Mining Engineer will be responsible for supporting these outputs, driving continuous improvement and providing coaching and mentoring to our team of schedulers, design, field, and drill & blast engineers. 

These roles will be offered on a permanent, full time basis and although the current arrangements for the positions are on a FIFO 5/2 4/3 roster, under the organisations flexible work arrangement guidelines Perth based and residential opportunities may be considered.

As a Senior Mining Engineer you will:
  • Ensure all schedules and designs comply with approved standards and support business objectives.
  • Further ensure that designs and schedules consider sound economic evaluation as well as discipline specific technical considerations.
  • Guide the process of generating and presenting integrated weekly and monthly schedules to the operation for execution.
  • Optimise pit development and sequencing to maximise ore recoveries within the 3 month timeframe.
  • Facilitate the transition of tactical plans into the development and optimisation of short term mine plans and schedules in order to ensure resource optimisation and achievement of targets.
  • Maximise compliance relative to short term production plans and schedules.
  • Ensure logistics capacity is aligned with planned operational outputs.
  • Assist the development of short term in pit designs in consultation with the resource engineering team.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the team through innovative thinking, assist in resolving issues and ensuring workload is managed and prioritised with a focus on maximising value.
  • Monitor and report against the weekly and monthly schedules and elevate unplanned and non-routine activity or performance to the Superintendent.

About You

We are seeking several Senior Mining Engineers to join our IPRO Production Scheduling Team to deliver scheduling and coordination of Production activities required for the Production Execution. Beneficial to your success in this role however not essential will be a tertiary qualification in Engineering (or related discipline) and experience in Mine Scheduling, Drill and Blast and Mine Design. Mine Planning software skills using programs such as Vulcan or XACT or Alastri will also be highly regarded. 

Strong interpersonal skills will be essential in this role as this will enable you to effectively manage and influence a variety of stakeholders in the delivery of positive business outcomes. As a senior within the team you will also play a key role in mentoring and coaching junior engineers.

These positions will be located across our WAIO operations and will be on a 5/2 4/3 roster however flexible working arrangements will be considered.
