As the Senior Geology you will be part of a team responsible for leading the team and reinvigorating the geological focus in new mine developments at Leinster Underground.  

Reporting to the Principal Geologist Leinster, you will work primarily underground on grade control activities, resource modelling, in-mine exploration and mine planning. The role is located at Leinster on a FIFO basis or residential and comprises a geology team of about eight people. The mine comprises multiple ore bodies and different mineralization styles and mining methods including development of BHP’s first Block cave. 

In this role you will have the opportunity to:
  • Support daily mine operations with geological services
  • Support planning with longer term focus and analysis of geology
  • Participate in exploration focus and activities 

About You

  • Bachelor of Science in Geology (Post graduate qualifications highly regarded)
  • Experience in Nickel and/or Gold would be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team
  • A high degree of competency with 3D general mining packages and GIS software (Leapfrog Geo, Datamine and AcQuire will be well regarded)
  • A current manual driver’s license
