About the role

We are currently looking for a Senior Reliability Engineer in our Mine Mobile Fleet Maintenance Reliability Team to provide specialist support to the maintenance function. 


Reporting to the Reliability Superintendent Mine Maintenance (Mobile Fleet), this role will help to drive continuous improvement and ensure delivery of the plan within Mobile Maintenance and the wider Mine area.

In this role you will:

  • Comply with and promote the standards and procedures designed to enable you and other team members to work safely and effectively every day
  • Coordinate and contribute to the continuous improvement process. Engage, drive and work with teams to identify, prioritise and implement improvements relating to reliability, cost, safety, risk and compliance
  • Develop and increase the capability of the maintenance execution team to drive safety, reliability, efficiency, quality of work and 'maintenance as a profession'
  • Closely monitor equipment performance in relation to safety, reliability, cost and productivity. 
  • Complete targeted and prioritised defect elimination and root cause analysis (RCA). Develop and implement subsequent improvement actions and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Coach and mentor other team members including reliability specialists, graduates and interns
  • Assist with maintenance budgeting, forecasting, cost review and analysis
  • Build close relationships and work collaboratively with maintenance execution team members including the leadership team
  • Provide input to and review project scopes, requirements and deliverables as a stakeholder, including operational readiness review
  • Monitor and facilitate the capital portfolio for the Mobile Maintenance Department
  • Work closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) and vendors
  • Provide coaching to the maintenance execution team in regard to defect elimination and root cause analysis
  • Work closely with other functions within the organisation including Maintenance & Engineering Centre of Excellence (MECoE), supply, contracts, projects and production departments
  • Create, review and optimise maintenance work strategies and reports
  • Create, review and update documents including maintenance procedures, work instructions and standards
  • Drive and deliver change to add value to the business, utilising the management of change process
  • Provide input in to the training strategies, training matrix, content and schedule for the Mobile Maintenance team to improve capability and equipment reliability


About You


  • You hold yourself and others to account whilst ensuring your behaviour is always respectful
  • Experience and interest in coaching, mentoring and developing the skills of other team members
  • Safety conscious, with proven ability to demonstrate risk management and HSEC behaviours
  • Passionate about maintenance, continuous improvement and reliability / defect elimination
  • Experienced in conducting root cause analysis and investigations
  • Experience with following a management of change (MOC) process
  • Experience within the mining industry (or similar)
  • 1SAP experience (not essential)
  • Must have excellent time management skills and be able to prioritise tasks
  • Be a team player, but also be able to work effectively unsupervised and be highly self-motivated
  • Ability to communicate well across multiple levels and disciplines
  • Trade Qualified and/or Engineering degree (or similar)
