About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent Mine,  the Senior Underground Mine Projects Engineer supports a team specialising in the construction and maintenance, of critical Mine Infrastructure (Services, Ventilation and Barricading) including water feed and dewatering of the mining operations.

The role will be based in Olympic Dam and offered 5/2, 4/3 FIFO (ex-Adelaide) or 5/2 residential at Roxby Downs.

In this role you will:
  • Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team
  • Ensure mine water feed & dewatering systems have availability
  • Be the key contact for all underground mine projects on water feed and dewatering installations along with interactions with fixed plant dewatering and waterfeed installations
  • Be involved in the development of the schedule, in consultation with Operational functions
  • Identify and implement Execution improvement opportunities with support from Production Analysis & Improvement (A&I)
  • Build cross-functional relationships with the Operational sub-functions to support the delivery of production.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to the Planning, Production & Project Execution teams in developing and delivering the optimal water feed and dewatering systems in the mine
  • Monitor real time production status and allocates resources to execute the daily plan through the use of process control systems

About You

  • Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in safety leadership
  • Exposure to and experience in the underground mining industry is essential
  • Previous experience in a similar role is expected with supervisory experience advantageous
  • Exposure working with relevant underground equipment
  • A degree or tertiary qualification in engineering is advantageous, though not essential
  • Demonstrated ability to build cohesive and collaborative relationships at all levels and cross departments
