About the role

We have various opportunities across our WAIO sites for Short Term Mine Schedulers. As a Short Term Mine Scheduler you will play a key role in creating an executable schedule, identifying risk and opportunities, managing change and communicating the operating strategy without compromising on quality and sustainability, whilst maximising productivity.
Reporting to the Superintendent Production Scheduling, you will play an integral role by:
  • Utilising sound judgment in the application of inputs to effectively schedule production activities in alignment with the plan above 
  • Ensuring all schedules consider practicality, productivity and safety considerations 
  • Understanding the economic drivers that underpin both revenue and cost within the operation to ensuring these are effectively leveraged through the mine schedule
  • Ensuring that the mine schedule is well aligned with the supply chain demand (logistics capacity)
  • Driving our safety culture through quality field leadership 
  • Proactively identifying and mitigating risk in the plan or where required ensuring adequate controls are in place
  • Ensuring sound engagement of key stakeholders both with regards to gathering plan inputs and the communication of plan outputs
  • Assisting the Superintendent with the creation of budgets and forecasts for the Mine Planning area and formulating feasible production forecasts and schedules that account for HSEC, volume and cost requirements

About You

With a tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, your diverse experience across Engineering, Scheduling and CAD design within the Mining industry will be beneficial to your success in this role however if you have worked in related industries such as processing, Civil, Transport or Logistics we are interested in hearing from you. Strong interpersonal skills will see you build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders, enabling you to gather valuable input for your work and create influence to ensure delivery of positive business outcomes. Mine Planning software skills using programs such as Vulcan or XACT or Alastri will also be highly regarded.

In addition to this, with a passion for continuous improvement, you’ll have proven experience in identifying opportunities for improvement initiatives to deliver value through the use of planning practices and procedures. 

A C-Class Driver’s License is a Minimum Requirement for this role.
