About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent Shutdown Execution, the Engineer – Shutdown Steam Compliance role will assume a key position within our experienced Surface Engineering group with responsibility to provide deep technical knowledge to support operations for a tier one global copper producer.




In this role you will:
- Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day.
- Maintain effective relationships with line management, support functions, internal customers and vendors.
- Provide technical expertise on the operational blueprint for the mechanical engineering discipline.
- Participate in the design review and approval processes for all blueprint deliverables.
- Validate all proposed changes to the blueprint (engineering drawings, etc).
- Validate the engineering standards to be used as input into the basis of design for projects.
- Look after all of the statutory requirements for the smelter shutdown maintenance
- Set and govern all mechanical engineering standards for the operation.

About You

  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way.
  • You are a Degree qualified Engineer with previous experience in providing technical input to designs, with an overarching drive for safety leadership.
  • Knowledge of Steam System compliance and integrity
  • You have strong communication skills and an interest in providing technical engineering support and solutions.
  • Problem solving and attention to detail will also be key to your success.
