About the role

We have a rare opportunity available for an experienced Supervisor Signals to join our dynamic team in Newman on an 8/6 FIFO roster. You will have great leadership qualities to mentor and support a medium sized team to excel and work well autonomously. 

Reporting to the Superintendent Signals & Communications Maintenance, you will play an integral role by:
  • Maintaining, demonstrating and promoting an overriding commitment to health and safety.
  • Supervision, coaching and mentoring of direct reports
  • Direct interaction with the Track Execution, Condition Monitoring and Train Control Teams as well as various other site and supply chain teams.
  • Understand rail priorities and direct consultation with the Site Planning and Train Control teams.
  • Work with Supply Chain and Maintenance teams to identify opportunities for upside during execution week for both production and maintenance
  • Ensure the safe execution of signalling maintenance and track support activities are completed by direct reports
  • Deliver weekly M&C reporting to the Superintendent.
  • Identify and remediate any gaps in Signal Technicians Competency Profile
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and execute 
  • Attend various production meetings to report on daily and weekly compliance

About You

As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
  • Current WA A Grade Electrical Licence 
  • Certificate IV in Railway Signalling 
  • Understanding of the requirements of the Rail Safety National Law (WA) Act is advantageous 
  • Strong safe, process driven leadership skills
  • Current unrestricted West Australian ‘C’ class licence or equivalent Australian State motor vehicle licence.
  • Experienced in 1SAP work management
  • The ability to deal quickly and safely with emerging issues
  • Ability to work autonomously and to meet deadlines 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Exceptional risk management skills
  • Able to work effectively under pressure
