About the role

We are looking for a Supervisor for our Site Operations team at our Daunia coal operations located in the Bowen basin. Offered on a 7:7 FIFO or DIDO roster, the Supervisor Site Operations you will be responsible for the care and maintenance of all site based technology and IT/OT systems such as radio networks, wireless communications, MineStar, IT networks and desktop applications.

In the role of Supervisor Site Operations you will:

  • Site Responsible Person for Technology resources on site and ensure your team works within the Safe Systems of Work, including safety, training and a changing working environment
  • Foster relationships between Technology and site operations to deliver technology service requirements and ensures the delivery of premium site support services
  • Work with infrastructure, communications, applications teams and vendors to ensure the effective management, running and maintenance of the technology environment to support business operations including: desktops, fleet management and plant process control systems, operational radio technology, wireless telemetry and videoconferencing
  • Management of all site based technology assets including deployment pool, spares, repairs and maintenance along with the required records and documentation to support compliance
  • Coordinates and manages maintenance tasks to optimise the technology environment and minimise any impacts to business continuity
  • Manages and coordinates resources available on site to ensure incidents and events can be resolved in accordance with business priorities/expectations
  • Works with the Technology Mines Principals, Project Managers and Engineering to facilitate site based project activities to ensure safe execution of work and minimal disruption to operations
  • Acts as the escalation contact for Technology site operations issues
  • Applies work management processes and ensures compliance to the departments KPI’s
  • Encourages Zero Harm philosophy
  • Upskills the team members and including themselves and supports succession planning

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • A relevant tertiary degree (Engineering, Information/ Radio Systems or related discipline) or relevant trade qualification (Electrical/Auto Electrician) is highly desirable.
  • A background in Operational Technology, preferably in Mining
  • Familiarity with mining operations technology, fleet management, digital radio and process control
  • A proven track record of Safety leadership/supervision of teams in an operational environment
  • An ability to prioritise effectively and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Proactively build relationships with customers/partners
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • Desirable experience with SAP Work Management
  • An ability to interpret and read maintenance plans & technical information
  • Good analytical skills for high level of problem solving and sharing of solutions within the department
  • Experience in managing costs / cost-control against budget
  • Valid Australian C class driver's license
  • Knowledge in Desktop, Windows 7 enterprise support (desirable)
