About the role

BHP Billiton’s new Maintenance and Engineering Centre of Excellence (MECoE) is the coming together of a dedicated, innovative team focused on identifying, achieving and maintaining the highest standards in maintenance for BHP Billiton globally.

These roles will be performed from our Centre of Excellence hubs based in our Brisbane office, supported by the latest technology to engage with our sites around Australia and the globe.

The Specialist Asset Management is a key role maintaining the synergies between multiple BHP Operations and Assets, ensuring that we have a common approach for managing our mobile fleet, and fixed plant and that equipment selection aligns with our long term plans.

The role is Brisbane based and will report to the Lead Equipment Specifications in the Asset Planning and Standards team which has influence across BHP’s Operations across the globe.  The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work within the following areas:
  • Equipment Specifications Standards
  • Maintenance Practice Standards
  • Repairable Component Standards 
  • Asset Life Cycle Modeling and Planning

About You

Your skills and experience

You have experience in a similar role within Asset Management or heavy industry coupled with a degree in Engineering or related discipline. You will also have proven experience with mobile equipment, fixed plant, applications engineering/and or studies. You will also have superior communication skills and sound business acumen.

The following skills and experience will be highly regarded:
  • Asset management knowledge and experience
  • Development, maintenance and governance of standards documents
  • Knowledge and application of mining industry standards and regulations
  • Exposure and knowledge of mining operational and maintenance practices
  • Experience in asset life cycle modeling (whole of life)
  • Experience in equipment replacement analysis
  • Experience in equipment delivery (purchasing, project managing and commissioning)
